My birthday came last month, a friend an co-worker left for college, I'm in my second semester of community college and I'm going to be an English tutor at that college. A lot has happened and continues to happen. Occasionally, I wish I could just hit the pause button on life so I could breathe a little without the time passing me by. Last week was probably the worst week of this year. I lacked sleep, motivation, and gratitude for the wonderful life I have. I think it's safe to say that when you look forward to work and enjoy that better than the rest of your day, your life is miserable. My job is awesome, okay, I work with kids. It doesn't get any better than that. But a job is a job and home is usually where I'm happiest. My mom and baby sister spend most of the week away because my sister's college is far away. Without my mom here home is not home and I get so homesick. They come back for the weekends, but that's barely enough to carry me through the week.
I don't mean to come back to this blog all doom and gloom, so let me move on to happier thoughts. I'm going to be an English tutor! How cool is that? I think it's pretty awesome. :D That will look great on my resume if I further pursue the teaching career. Right now my dream is to be a preschool teacher at the preschool I work at. Currently I am only an assistant, which is a nice job, but I'm the kind of girl who likes to be in charge. Thus, my desire to be in charge of a class room. I think I would be content to work with the three or four year olds. I don't want to teach the twos though. Once I get there, if I want to move on to something new then I will try being an elementary school teacher. I know a couple women from church who are elementary teachers and I'm sure they would be more than willing to help prepare me. I have a lot of options for my career path right now, some of them involve more school, others involve less. Wherever God takes me I'll go.
I have not gotten much time to write in my novels. I have been writing, but nothing that belongs to any of the books I have. I have started thinking about Darkest Before Dawn again and I have some ideas on how to revise the plot and embellish the characters. That's right, you've guessed it, I am writing it again. For the umpteenth time I will start rewriting Darkest Before Dawn. Being my first good novel I will probably always be writing it. That book makes me so happy and every time I write it I get happier with it. :)
Next time I hope to blog sooner, though I wouldn't count on it if I were you. And I hope to blog more about my novels instead of my life. If you want to keep up with me more or see some of my more recent writing then you should follow me on Instagram, or Twitter, and definitely on Tumblr. I sometimes share links to my writing and blog posts on Twitter. Instagram is where I am most active, with writing posts, fandom posts, and random updates about me, myself, and I. Tumblr is where, so far, I have posted writing things. In some of my writing on Tumblr I really let down my guard and put my soul into my work like I have never done before. (my usernames on social meadia are Lizzie Rise, Elizabeth Rise, and juniornovelist4Christ.)
God bless you! Thanks for taking the time to read my blog and follow me. :) Have a fantastic day!
