Quick update. So the tutoring gig is over, thank goodness. Tutoring college students twice my age, I found, is not my thing. Teaching preschool, however, is definitely the kind of work I enjoy. I took two classes in the summer and regretted every minute of it. I have always loved the summer time. I love the heat, the high blue sky, swimming at the beach, and best of all the break from school. Except this year I made the mistake of not taking a break from school and after two semesters under my belt already I desperately needed a break. So this semester I am only taking one class and it's only a six week class that doesn't start until November. Two months have gone by without my having to do any school and let me tell you what it has been bliss! I have had so much free time and I have more time to give to work which has worked out great for me.
I have had the opportunity to be substitute in the 4 years olds class and because I don't have school getting in the way I actually have the time to do it. And I love it! The class has six students, three boys and three girls, and they are the best students you could ask for. The kids love me and I love them even more. I am having so much fun teaching that class! Over the past three weeks, during the days that I taught, I have proven to myself and my boss my capabilities as a preschool teacher. Having only one year of college under my belt and even less work experience in a preschool, I doubted my abilities to be a good teacher if the opportunity to teach would be offered to me soon. But now I know that I have what it takes and I enjoy it too. The only drawback from this awesome experience is that now I wish that class was mine. I've never wanted a class more than I do now that I've had the chance to see what it's really like. I know there is still so much for me to learn, but I am confident I will figure it along the way.
That said, I'll go into explaining my long absence and other boring details about my blog. In case you were wondering, the main reason I haven't blogged in so long is that everything I could think to say always ended in a complaint. While I was in school I had too much to complain about and so I had a hard time counting my blessings without also adding a complaint. Unable to control my words I decided it was better to just bite my tongue and not say anything until I found something to rejoice about. In case you haven't noticed, I don't enjoy school. So going to college was a real downer for me. But this break has been so awesome and I am just so happy right now. Although I didn't post anything, every few months I did check in on the blog. I even started to write a few blog posts, but they're still stashed away as drafts. According to the website's stats this blog gets a rough average of 100 to 350 views a week. A week! That's just crazy! It makes me so happy to see that even when I'm gone my blog still thrives.
Well I know that's not the best developed conclusion for someone who did well in English Composition. But given that I am thoroughly convinced that my English teacher is not one of my viewers I lack the motivation to put anymore work into editing this post other than one read over. I hope all the Composition teachers out there can forgive me. ;)
And thank you for taking the time to read my blog! Your time spent here will never go unappreciated. :)
God bless you and have an awesome day! Or night, depending on where you're at. :D
