I mentioned in one of my previous posts a book I'd tried to in November. I only got about 6,000 words in Invisible and then I gave up. I started by trying to right about characters with "superpowers". The main character, Rebecca had the ability to become invisible. Well, I've never written that sort of thing before and because it wasn't the kind of thing Ginny was interested in I didn't get much enthusiasm from her. Without anyone to read it and help me with the book I gave up and just watched some superhero movies instead of writing about it. ;) Lately I've been wanting to add some of my old works to Wattpad so I thought I'd start with Invisible. And that's when a new idea hit me. What if, instead of having a bunch of characters with cool abilities I only had a few? And what if Rebecca didn't choose to be invisible, but was always invisible? What if their powers were more like punishment to them than an strength?
Tada! New book idea! XD Now I have two main characters, Rebecca and Hudson. Rebecca is invisible, the only sign of her is that the sun will cast her shadow. Hudson is a little different. Everyone he loves dies so he's chosen to hate everyone. Throughout the book a lesson will be taught to them as they learn why they have these powers, or punishment. And then they'll either learn how to use their power for good and perhaps learn to control it. Now, Hudson's ability is going to be a little tricky. I'm not really sure how that one's going to work out. But if anyone has a better idea for what his punishment/power can be then I would love to hear your suggestions.

I promised a post about my vacation and here it is at last. I apologize in advance for the somewhat blurry pictures. We departed in the morning on June 9th and got back in the afternoon on June 21st, just in time for church the next day. We drove to South Dakota where I rode a horse for the first time, sadly I have no pictures of that. While we were in South Dakota we went to Mount Rushmore of course! The horse I rode. After three days in Wyoming we went to Colorado and then began our journey back home. If you want to see a few clearer pictures and picture of the buffalo we saw then you can visit Ginny's blog where she also shared a little about our trip to the west. I hope the link works, I'm not good at that kind of stuff as you've probably noticed by now. Not only did we have a lot of fun on our vacation, but it also put me in awe of the power and majesty of God. In Yellowstone we saw a huge, powerful waterfall and just watching the water cascade over the rocks and crash into the river below was amazing. I could have watched it all day. The verity of our Creator's work is so beautiful and really shows His vast imagination and strength.
Okay, I've added something new to my "Novels" page. You'll see a a button that says "Wattpad". If you don't know what that is, it's a website for writers like myself. I've created an account and put a couple of my books up there, or part of them rather. I'm not sure if I'll continue to share most of my books here or there as of yet, I'm still learning my around the site. I will probably add a few excerpts from some of old books too.
Well, that was a short post.... This is probably not the first time you're going to hear this, but... I changed my book cover for Darkest Before Dawn. It is the picture you see on the left. :) I didn't really like the one I had originally, it was kind-of boring to me. I had been looking for something with a sunrise, but nothing worked. So I randomly decided to search broken glass and ta-da! I have no idea what scene that is in the book, but I'm still excited to write about it. Normally my book covers picture a scene from the book, although this time I couldn't find that, but I'll fix that soon! XD I wrote about one or two thousand words in Darkest Before Dawn while on vacation. I was very proud of myself for finally picking it up again. Although I think the book was moving faster than I wanted, it is the first draft so I hope to change that the second time around. Well, I say it's the first draft, but it's kind of the second. And I think I explained that before... *shrugs* Speaking of my vacation, I still do plan to post about that later, but it will have to wait until I get around to downloading the photos to my computer. I'm home from my vacation, as you've probably figured out by now, and I'm going crazy on the internet. Crazy meaning that I've been on here for at least an hour and a half.... it felt longer than that when I started this sentence. Anyway, I am loving this wifi! On vacation we could hardly get good wifi, if any. Talk to you soon, God bless! As some of you may have noticed I've been adding some stuff to my blog. On the page "About" I've added an album for my characters of my books. For now I don't have many photos, but I'll continually be adding photos as I find them. With the amount of time I spend on Pinterest the album is sure to grow rapidly. ;) In case some of you don't know, I've also added a few pictures to my album of novels. The most recent novel covers that I've added are Icy Silence and Hidden Secrets. Although, those are not the official pictures for the cover of the two books because I wrote them with Ginny and so we need to agree on a picture, but we haven't done that yet. Darkest Before Dawn, Footsteps, Risking Love and Streams of Mercy are also books who's covers may change. Well... they could all change, at least until I find the perfect one.
I've neglected to explain what it is that's keeping me so busy in June, but now that I have time I shall explain. I am on vacation. I'm currently in Cody, Wyoming and tomorrow I'll be Colorado. I got to go horse back riding in South Dakota and than again here in Wyoming, both times I went with my Dad. I'll tell you more about my vacation and probably post a few pictures later. The vacation is two weeks long, and we're already halfway through. And now you finally know why I am so busy, I'm traveling! :D Talk to you soon, God bless! :D Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, but as I mentioned in May I've been super busy in June. At least, I think I said something about that... Anyway, if you didn't know before now you do. There will be little to no posts in the middle of June, and possibly no posts till July, but I'm not really sure. I honestly didn't think I would get a chance to post something now. I haven't gotten much, if any writing done this month, but I plan to change that in July during another month of Camp NaNoWriMo.
I probably haven't mentioned this before, but I love horses. Ever since I was little I wanted to ride a horse, well, yesterday I got to do just that. It was so much fun and I can't wait to do it again. My horse's name was Whiskey, and Ginny rode Bullet. We had the only two most disobedient horses, they kept wanting to eat the grass along the trail, but they're not supposed to. It was still lot's of fun, even though Ginny and I are still a little saddle sore. ;) Our dad rode with us, his horse was Cookie which we thought was funny, though I suppose not as funny as Whiskey. :p Well, I should go, it's getting late and I'm tired from the events of today. God bless you and have a wonderful day! :D |
