The home rebuilt, Sarah is raising her brother on the ranch, but about the same time Jeremiah comes home trouble is at the ranch. Two of the ranch hands are murdered and the killer is still at large. And that's about where we stopped. I was mostly the one behind writing the killers and deciding what their motive is, but I can't figure out what they want. Also, I became bored of my character Sarah, she came off too selfish and rude.
The book also focus's on the "second main" characters, Nick and Susan. Nick is a ranch hand, the only one who doesn't get murdered. Susan was on the wagon train with Jeremiah. Susan is raising her younger siblings and has no place to go when she finally gets to Montana, but she's engaged to Jeremiah so he takes her to his father's home which he finds out is now his half sister's home. Along the way Susan and Nick discover they're siblings and Sarah falls in love with Susan's older brother, William.
Ginny and I tried to rewrite to book a couple times, we even renamed it Montana Territory, but it never took off. We do hope to get back to it one day and either rewrite it, or just pick up where we left off. Though, I think that won't happen until I can figure out the bad guy's motive which is sure to take a long time. If anyone has any suggests they would like to share that might help this book take off again, that would be much appreciated. Ginny is longing to pick it up again, but she can't do so without me and I can't do it if I don't know what to make the bad guys do.
