A long (long, long, long) time ago I may have posted about my novel Invisible. I created that story during my teenage years and during a time when I watched a lot of superhero movies and shows of that genre. It was about a girl who was literally invisible, and some other characters who also had some abnormal “powers”. It was probably around the spring of this year when I decided to “delete” that story. In the past, I had tried to write it a few times, but I never got past the first few pages. However, I still liked some of the characters, so I decided to move them over to a completely new story. Or reinvent the whole project, really.
The novel is now renamed James Cleary: Missing in Action. It’s my first novel with a subtitle, haha! 😉 I took my character Reign and renamed him James Cleary and gave him the nickname Rebel. Rebel’s character is still similar to his original self from Invisible. I kept Eleanor, but this time she’s not crazy. My side characters, Reign(Rebel) and Eleanor, became the main characters and the original main character no longer exists. Alistair is in the remake, but he might not be the villain this time. This time around nobody has superpowers.
So now you’re probably wondering what the plot is. If you know me then you might know better than to ask me that. I’ll try my best to explain it. James Cleary is an American soldier in WWII. He goes missing in action, as the title suggests. Somehow (still developing that part) James “travels” accidently to the future, our present. The novel is probably going to be about how he got to the 21st century and why. I’ll probably have the Nazis as the culprit(somehow). I figure whenever I finally have time to write again then that’s when I’ll work out all the details. In the meantime, I have another really cool storyboard on Pinterest. :D All my novels have to have a love story, obviously. I am probably going to ship James with Eleanor, but there’s a chance he could end up with Elspeth instead.
If I ever get the chance to write this novel I think it will be really cool. Not as awesome as my Tick Tock novel though. I love Tick Tock! That novel is my best creation yet and though it has yet to be finished, I have every intention of finishing it one day. 😊
I say, “if I get the chance” because young adult life is crazy busy. College takes up a lot of my time. These days when I find some time to sit down and write and plot storylines then I realize there is something more important I should be using that time for. Like studying for an exam in Biology or writing a research paper for History. Then there’s work and let’s not forget about my social life (church). I’m confident that the grass is greener on the other side, though. Once I graduate then I think I should have more time for writing. Until then I will periodically blog about all the novels I dream about writing. ;)
Thanks for listening to my ramblings. It's nice to see that even after all this time I still get quite a few views on my blog. Thank you for your time, God bless you!
