I miss my book, Tick Tock! Nothing I ever write will be able to compare to those 15,000 words of Tick Tock that I lost on my computer. If I'm unable to save my computer I might just bury it in the backyard and give it a tombstone, "In loving memory of my precious book, Tick Tock". I miss it so much! It was SO good! I like what I'm writing now in Tick Tock, but it's not the same. It will NEVER be the same!
Okay, now that I'm done being a drama queen I will, calmly but still sorrowfully, point out to you that I paid for that computer. (FYI, it's a tablet/laptop thing, but I'm just going to keep calling it a computer) That computer was not cheep and the money came out of my pocket. I loved that computer. But I'm finding that it's far less important to me than Tick Tock. I would let someone rip my computer apart if it would save my book. And it's not the only work I lost on there. I lost 13,000 words of Icy Silence (I never bothered to rewrite them, I just picked up where we left off), I lost 3,000 words of Darkest Before Dawn (I miss that scene, it was really good), I lost a couple pages of Light of Dawn. But losing all of that doesn't compare to losing Tick Tock. So maybe I wasn't done being a drama queen... ops.
Anyway, I know I've said most of that before, but that's just how much I miss my book. I also said this before, but it's worth repeating. Make sure you have a copy of your books somewhere! Don't wait like I did. I thought I would do it later, but later never came. Make sure you have your works on the internet or on the cloud so you can access them on any computer. But don't use the Google documents, though. If you put anything on Google then they can claim it as theirs and they will! I talked to someone who had that done to them, so don't think it won't happen to you. If you want to claim ownership of your book don't let Google have it.
I got to go! God bless you!
