Growing My Etsy Shop
My Etsy shop is growing, slowly but surely. I started out with a couple headbands for babies, sizes 0-3months. Now I have a somewhat larger varity of colors, and one that is made with cotton yarn. I love the cotton yarn, if feels like higher quality materiel when I am handling it. I also have some headbands for sizes 3-6months and I made one in an adult size as well. I also made two security blankets. They are roughly 17x17in. wide. Given the handmade nature of the products, the sizes vary slightly. One blanket is in cream, the other baby blue. I started on a third which will be blue and white. In addition, I am branching out beyond crochet work. I made a couple braided pacifer clips with a jersey fabric. Soon I plan to sew some cotton ones. Tomorrow, I plan to start work on a flannel baby blanket. It will be double sided, extra large, and have cute little deer and foxes on it. It's going to be super cute!
I have started looking at more sewing patterns lately. My mom taught me how to sew when I was teen. We started out with simple stuff, pillow cases and skirts. Later we made historically accurate dresses from the Regency period (Jane Austen's time) for reinactments. Needless to say, I became quite good. However, it's been awhile now so I am slowly getting back into it and it's slowly coming back to me. It's a bit like riding a bike in that the information is all still there in my head. Except it doesn't come back quite so easily. Anyway, I am saying all that to say that I hope to start sewing more baby things for my shop. By baby things, I mean blankets, clothes, and wraps.
