It's only day one of NaNoWriMo, but so far so good. I got a few hundred words written today. Also did some brainstorming for plot development which is always a good thing. And then I had some fun adding to the novel's Pinterest board. :) Beyond just writing, I have had a productive day. I raked my front yard today so it would be clear for the yard sale I'm having tomorrow. Also swept, washed dishes (by hand, I do not have a dishwasher), did laundry, got groceries. Homemaking is fun. ;) I'm not being sarcastic there, I do enjoy homemaking. I don't typically enjoy those tasks by themselves. But it pleases me to keep house for my husband and soon our baby. Of course, I am in the first year of marriage, so you know, the honeymoon phase. :)
I was originally going to talk about Tick Tock and give an excerpt, but I got side tracked. In other fun news, I am 20 weeks pregnant as of today! That's the halfway mark! AND this Tuesday we will find out the sex of the baby! I am SO excited. I don't know how we have managed to wait this long. Actually I do know, we've waited very impatiently. I've been able to feel the baby kicking softly for the past few weeks, but last week my husband felt it for the first time. It's such a special feeling.
More homemaking news, I finally got a propane tank for my gas stove. We got a gas stove when we bought the house a year ago. In June I called the gas people, but they didn't get back to us. So I used a hot plate or crock pot to make meals. Aside from when morning sickness slowed me down, I would cook dinner regulary. I also know how to bake and I hope to do some canning next year. My mom taught me and now that she's done canning, she's giving me all her stuff. So I suffered through using the lame hot plate for months until we finally called a different gas company. They installed the tank just a few weeks ago and let me tell you what, I don't know how I made it this long without a proper stove and oven. The food cooks so fast! And I swear it tastes better too! I can make a varity of meals. I can bake! I've already made buttermilk biscuits and oatmeal cookies. From scratch, mind you, I don't use those packages very often. Those cookie mixes just aren't that good. I'm so happy to have some real food in my house! And to finally show my husband the varity of good foods I can make for him. This is one of those things where it's like, you know you're an adult when you get excited about propane tanks. Lol! Another fun fact, the guy who installed the tank turned out to be my neighbor from just down the street. That was an interesting way to get introduced. :)
That's all I have for now. Baby and I are getting hungry so I think I'll go fix some dinner.
Have an awesome day! God bless you!
