National Novel Writing Month is coming! It's only a month away, well actually even less than that. For awhile I didn't know what book I was going to focus on during November, or if I was even going to bother do it this year. I decided to focus exclusively on Darkest Before Dawn. Honestly, I don't think I'm going to make it to 50,00 words in one month. I just can't write that fast, I'm a slow writer. I used to be fast, I used have hundreds of novel ideas at one time and I could write in several books at the same time. At some point I lost that talent. I blame it on a writing course I took one summer, I say that it made writing work instead of fun, and maybe that's true, but I'm not really sure anymore. Anyway, I may have lost the wild and active imagination of childhood, but I can still write a good story, just at much slower pace.
So instead of making my goal to reach 50,000 words I've made it to focus only on one book, and work steadily on that book, not getting distracted by all the other stories I want to write. In November I will try harder to stay away from all the other internet distractions when I get on the computer to write, I'll try to limit myself to NaNoWriMo and my writing documents. I'll try to stay away from the distraction of editing my book, and making a better synopsis. My hope is that NaNoWriMo will help me stay focused on writing instead of surfing the web and getting carried away on Pinerest when I get distracted on my Celestial Trilogy board. Hopefully by telling y'all this it will help keep me to my plans instead of procrastinating because no one would have to know.
I'm also going to try not to neglect my blog during November. I don't know how the month will go, if it will be so busy I can't get around to it, or if I'll have all the time in the world. I imagine being diligent, but I can just see myself procrastinating about it again like I did tonight before I finally picked up this computer and forced myself to say something. It's one of those things where I hate the idea of doing it so I put it off as long as possible, but when I do pick it up then I enjoy it and wonder why I didn't do it sooner.
That's all I have for now. Have a wonderful day! God bless you!
